Partnered with Rehoboth Cathedral to Distribute Books in Brooklyn

NEW YORK – On Wednesday, June 5, 2024, Zeldin Cares launched its Pages of Promise Initiative, promoting literacy and empowering families through the distribution of books. Zeldin Cares partnered with Rehoboth Cathedral, New York Police Department Community Affairs, and the New York Young Republican Club Black and Hispanic Caucuses, with the help of Bishop Gerald Seabrooks, Bishop Matthew Johnson Senior, and Rabbi Sensei Gary Moskowitz. Over 300 books donated by Book Fairies were distributed to community members in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.

“To lead a successful life, one of the most important things for children to have is a strong support system around them. Zeldin Cares’ Pages of Promise Initiative will empower families and enhance literacy across New York. Thank you to all of the amazing partner organizations and community leaders who helped make this launch a success. We look forward to taking this initiative to many more communities around the state,” said Zeldin Cares Founder and Chairman Lee Zeldin.

“Launching Zeldin Cares’ Pages of Promise Initiative, which gave out hundreds of books to Bed-Stuy residents, was an amazing way to kick off the summer. It was inspiring to see just how many community members were taking part in this event, bringing their family and friends to Rehoboth Cathedral. It is vital for Zeldin Cares, and other amazing groups, to engage with communities across New York in a meaningful way,” said Zeldin Cares Executive Director Vanessa Simon.

In addition to the book distro, 50 new men’s and children’s cold-weather apparel items were donated to the Rehoboth Cathedral, all of which were final inventory items remaining from the Arctix Dakota Project. The Dakota Project was a partnership between Zeldin Cares and Arctix Apparel to distribute over 108,000 high quality winter apparel items to homeless and low-income Americans nationwide. This project was launched in December 2023 and wrapped up in March 2024.
