NEW YORK – On Wednesday, July 12, 2023, former four-term U.S. Congressman, 2022 New York Gubernatorial candidate, and Chairman of Zeldin Cares, Lee Zeldin, announced a new initiative to provide free CPR classes to New Yorkers. This project will be in partnership with Commonpoint Queens, an organization dedicated to sustaining and enhancing the quality of individual, family and communal life throughout Queens, through services to people of all ages, ability levels, stages of life and backgrounds.
All participants in this program will take part in single day classes, and will be receiving Red Cross certification for CPR and First Aid, which will last for one year. The first class will be held this Sunday, July 16, 2023, with multiple classes throughout the summer and additional dates to be announced.
“The ability to provide life saving care could mean the difference between life or death in an emergency situation. Zeldin Cares is excited to take on this new initiative with Commonpoint Queens. We are encouraging all New Yorkers to sign up for one of our upcoming CPR classes,” said Zeldin Cares Chairman Lee Zeldin.
“We are grateful for the generosity of Zeldin Cares in helping us keep our community safer with these vital training classes,” said Dale Stark, Assistant Vice President of Health and Wellness at Commonpoint Queens. “You never know when this skill set can come in handy, which is what makes it so important for people of all ages to be trained and ready to act if CPR is necessary.”
